London
I got a chance to visit London last September for work. It was a short and intense trip but did manage to fit in some sightseeing from the back of taxis - new skill! I was staying right next to the Tower of London but only managed to swing by it on my last morning on my way into the office. Even though there wasn't time for sightseeing, I did manage to eat (and drink) very well while I was there - more on that below.
I got treated to afternoon tea at Sketch which is a stunning IG heaven restaurant - all pink with a crazy alien pod bathroom. I had flown overnight on my birthday so we celebrated with dessert and champagne at Sketch. Between the champagne + jet lag I was feeling pretty out of it so I decided to walk across the city in order to stay awake long enough to sleep through the night. As most people know, I'm very accident prone and managed to just miss getting hit by a double decker bus on the walk back to my hotel- woke me right up! Besides Sketch, I ate delicious hot dogs at Bubbledogs, drank excellent margaritas and ate tacos at La Bodega Negra (hidden downstairs of an adult video store), dined in the beautiful Ivy Soho and drank cocktails underground at Basement Sate (which has a warning on the door that its not a brothel). Such a fun trip - can't wait to go back.
